2 weeks ago, we got a late-night chance to introduce Big Blue to a newly-running local friend. We headed to a winery, where a winemaker friend just got his '81 Vanagon running. Still unnamed, we look forward to hanging out in the future together. Oh, and yet-unnamed Vanagon will be at Bus City 2010, will your bus?

Above is the only picture to feature a VW bus, but there are other interesting photos at http://ericamcdonaldphoto.com/ from touring with The Grateful Dead (click on "Along The Way" on the left side).
While you are there, check out her New York Photos - especially the "Surf Manor Adult Home" link. Interesting stuff.

I really don't understand why this magazine isn't cheaper. If there is anyone dumb enough to spend $9.99 on a monthly VW magazine, it would be me. I understand is comes from the UK, but does Hot VWs cost that much in England?
This issue came to me via a friend who found it in his seat pocket on his flight from L.A.
Trouble is, for bay window owners, it is a great magazine, so it is tempting. But, not tempting enough...

Wolfsburg West makes it into the hall of shame because they actually changed from this logo to a new logo. And this logo is WAY cooler. If anyone from WolfsburgWest reads this (Ron!), two words: retro t-shirt.

Pictures from the 2nd day of our December Santa Cruz trip. We hit a great place - El Chipotle - for breakfast. Highly recommended!
Then we hit a famous Santa Cruz institution: The Sunday Flea Market! We didn't find anything, but the pictures are usually what makes the stop worth it...
Special shot out to our friend Kutz for sending a CD filled with tunes for our "next roadtrip". We tried it out on this adventure and the songs were perfect. Try it, dear bus friends, if you dare:

These are images from our December trip to Santa Cruz.
We stopped at the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company. Great place. Worth the stop. Awesome.
This nice, blue bug was parked in the lot...
We stopped at the Pie Ranch. I'm not sure the deal with it. But it's a cool little place to stop along highway 1.
I tried to buy this girl's CD since we now have a CD player in the bus but no dice. Apparently she has recorded but doesn't have a CD out.
Want to make a candle? You can do it at Pie Ranch!
We stopped by the wine ghetto in Santa Cruz. Good wine. Good times.
Bonny Doon is worth the stop.
The Westy above was featuring Christmas lights...
I saw this bus - actually EP spotted it - in the Ross parking lot We were there because we forgot our pan to cook in.
We had dinner and a few drinks at RED, a pretty cool place in downtown Santa Cruz. If you are not too annoyed by the color red, it's worth the stop...
Later, we made it to the campground (New Brighton State Beach) and enjoyed a French wine (unusually for us in as we are swimming in California wine).
And it was a good night...
