Tonight, we welcome a dirty, old 1956 bug to the family!

I don't know much yet. Today after work I went and saw a 1956 bug that a guy had told me about. The people wanted to clear out their garage. The bug was parked there about 20 years ago. I went in excited on what I might find.

I walked into the garage to find the car covered in boxes. A 1/4 inch of dust covers the entire car. The inside is full of egg cartons. The back seat is on the roof. The back end sheet metal has been cut (apparently the guy tried to remove the engine by lifting it out of the bug, rather than dropping it out the bottom). The engine is out and sitting behind the car. The transaxle is out. It's green.

So I bought it. It will take some time to get out of the garage. The lady is 85 and I offered to move all the stuff in the way for her. So I need to do that. And I need to reevaluate what is under the car. I'll get better pictures when I get there again.

Oh, and it has an oval window!

Wow, a 54 year-old project car added to the stable when a baby's on the way. Gutsy move, BB's D.

Alright,
