VWs of... Paris!

We headed to Paris for a vacation, but while there, I figured I'd be on the lookout for VWs. Before going, many people told me that there aren't that many old VWs in France. I'm not sure about the rest of the country, but Paris is pretty void of them.

I saw this hightop Vanagon our first night there...

Since I thought it was going to be hard to document real VW cars/buses in Paris, I decided to include pictures of other things VW-related. I found this pedal car at a Parisian flea market...

Also near the flea market, the first bay window (a late bay panel). This was on the second day. I thought we were having good luck at this point...

I also saw this in a "junk" store...

This bay popped up on day 3. That's Notre Dame in the background. This guy appeared to be a hardcore VW fan (I took that from the sticker in the last photo).

This bug - the only old one we saw while there - drove by while we were at a cafe. The other people at the cafe thought it very odd that I reacted so quickly to take a picture of this dirty old VW...

Porsche 356 on the street.

We saw a store that had a ton of VW bus crap. It was expensive! Too expensive to buy any, so a quick picture had to do...

Okay - this beast is water-cooled, a VW Polo. But I thought it had some style so I'll include it here...

Vanagon! Panel?

This was wearing a "Transporter" badge:

Vanagon!

I'm a fan of the Sprinter van, if I were rolling a modern camper. But I saw this cool VW equivalent and I was impressed. If I had to go with something new, I'd consider this...

The 3rd and final bay window. A really nice bus...

Another VW polo. Again, I think they have some odd style that I like...

A wonderful glimpse of the world of older Vee-Dubs in Paris! Thank you for sharing.

dude, i have the same feelings about sprinter vans...i would so love to get a fed-ex sprinter and "deck it out" into a crazy stealth camper. i can now camp anywere urban without being noticed. i would leave the paint job as a fedex, and put in a sky light for natural light.

on my last trip to germany i was also on an the hunt for busses. only saw one bay, and a bunch of vanagons...
