Have you ever seen some of the VW-based wildness that Ed "Big Daddy" Roth came up with? I saw it in a book some time ago (at a bookstore near Union Square, actually). Apparently he liked ACVWs because the floorpan design and rear-engined layout leant themselves well to his radical style of customization.
