Vintage Tuesday! - VW at the Medford Airport

Perhaps I'm crazy, but isn't that some sort of Type 3 or 411 or 412 in there as well?

The car in the foreground is not a VW product at all, but rather an Austin America. These were made by British Leyland primarily for the US export market to compete with the VW Beetle. The car had an innovative design - fwd, transverse mounted 4 cyl engine and 4 speed manual or automatic transmissions (the 4 speed auto could be used in manual mode). Unfortunately, these cars were plagued by problems common to British vehicles of the time - there probably aren't more than 100 left in the US.
