6-24-11 - Week in review
The biggest thing we did last weekend was what we didn't do. And that was attend the Annual VW Campout in Maupin, Oregon. Several good volks that are friends (WestyWoman, Static, Gary and Otto The Vanagon) did make the journey. This is the 3rd year we have paid for the event and haven't gone. We'll try to make it next year. Interested in seeing pictures? See Gary's photos here:
We spent the beginning of this week traveling (in our modern car) from the Bay Area to Solvang (just north of Santa Barbara). EP was there on business and Oak and I tagged along. We saw a few VWs on the trip:

Tomorrow, Oak and I are headed over to LaVere's open house in the Easy Bay. The apparently have one of these on display. Here are the details, should you wish to go:
LaVere's VW and Audi Only (AKA: LaVere's VW Restoration) is having our once a year open house this Saturday from 11am-4pm at their new location @ 1121 Landini Lane in Concord. You are welcome to come by and look at Vintage VW's that are in process of being restored as well as 1 or 2 that are fully restored already. You can stroll around or yard and look a cars we have here and there are lots. Some for sale. If you now own or once owned an old VW, you will find the shop to be a time capsule back into the 60's and 70's concerning air-cooled VW's. You are welcome to come and talk with the staff about your old (or new) VW (or Audi) or learn what to look for when purchasing an older VW. There will probably be an impromptu car show outside as well.
Oh, and Bug Bash is in Vallejo this Sunday:
